Introducing our new Girls Basketball Coordinator Pollyanna Kimbrough

Pollyanna Kimbrough

Kessel Heat is excited to introduce our newest member Coach Pollyanna Kimbrough to the Kessel Heat family as the new Girls Basketball Coordinator. The program is getting  a strong leader with a great amount of experience to share with the girls and build their game and make them stronger players and competitors.

Here is a personal introduction from Coach herself: "My name is Pollyanna Kimbrough. I am a wife and mother of two wonderful and vibrant children, who challenges and keeps me alert. I played college basketball at the University of Michigan. A period of my life that I cherish dearly. I led the Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team in both scoring and rebounds for three consecutive years and continue to hold the school records for career shooting percentage, single-season shooting percentage , and career rebounding percentage. Following my career at Michigan, I was selected  by the Charlotte Sting with the 27th overall pick in the 1998 WNBA draft. I was the first Michigan women's basketball player to be drafted by an American professional team. I played six years as a center and forward in the WNBA for the Charlotte Sting, Cleveland Rockers, Miami Sol, and Houston Comets. In addition to that,  I had the privilege of playing three seasons in Italy's LegA Basket Femminile for Phard Napoli and Coconuda Maddaloni. In 2005, I also played for the Pécs team in the Hungarian League before retiring.  I am super passionate about basketball. However, I'm more passionate about providing a space and opportunity for young athletes to refine and develop skills, build strong relationships, and character, while having fun doing so. Recently, I've been presented with the opportunity to join Kessel Basketball to direct the girls team. An honor I'm looking forward to. The goal is to rebuild and establish a strong, competitive, and integral program that will maintain the mission and vision of the organization."
